Cooking for kids & serving healthy family food for all of us is a passion of mine. I love food. I love cooking it, for myself for others & for my children. I love eating it, I love watching other people cooking it & I love eating it when other people have cooked it! I am also passionate about the quality of the food I eat – I want our family food to be locally produced, reared or grown, organic where possible, fresh, interesting, & to taste great.
Another passion of mine is my business & my clients: pregnant & postnatal women who want to look & feel better, stronger, fitter, healthier & more gorgeous. They need to know how to eat for pregnancy, healthy babies, stamina in labour, breastfeeding, exercising through each trimester & stage of pregnancy, for balancing hormonal fluctuations, emotional health & for postnatal recovery, strength & energy.
Ffwd to now & 2 kids under 4 who (most of the time!) sit at the table to eat real, home-cooked family food without hissy fits, bribes, or drama. They eat until they’re full, try pretty much anything put in front of them & they love their food. I thought I’d share a few strategies & principles (& some experiments!) with the ether or anyone listening…
I don’t claim to be any kind of ‘parenting expert’ or chef & I’m not the most highly qualified nutritionist by a long stretch, but my clients & my friends seem to achieve some family food success & meal-time harmony with their children from some of my ideas… so I hope Dear Reader & fellow Parent-Who’s-Just-Doing-Their-Best, that you like a couple of them too!
