Deena Poll Goodman, PT, WCS, BCIA-PMDB is the Founder and Director of Goodman Physical Therapy in West Los Angeles. She is a licensed Physical Therapist with over 24 years of experience specializing in urogynecology, obstetrics, and orthopedics, and is one of only a few physical therapists in Southern California who specializes in women’s and men’s pelvic floor disorders. Goodman’s clients include men and women who want to feel better in their body whether or not they are recovering from an injury, women who are pregnant and those who want to bounce back into shape after having a baby, and athletes who want a new and effective approach to their exercise program. Goodman also treats patients with pelvic and sexual pain, anorgasmia, and pelvic floor dysfunctions. Goodman’s celebrity cliental appreciate the convenience of working with her in the comfort of their own homes, while others love the relaxing and stimulating environment that her beautiful private practice office provides.

Goodman is one of the first physical therapists to become a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Women’s Health and was recognized in 2009 by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties for this high achievement. She received her biofeedback certification specialisation in pelvic muscle dysfunction from the Biofeedback Certification Institute of America, and is a graduate of the three year program in Integrative Body Psychotherapy from the IBP Central Institute in Los Angeles. Goodman received a bachelor’s of science degree in Psychology from the University of California, Davis and in Health Science graduating Magna Cum Laude in Physical Therapy from California State University, Northridge. Her diverse health and wellness education includes Nutrition Science, Massage Therapy, and Reflexology. She is involved in clinical research related to pelvic and sexual health, and has developed and implemented many unique programs during the 12 years on staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center including exercise classes and educational seminars.

Goodman is recognized nationally and internationally for her work in pelvic floor rehabilitation and contributes to new areas of development within her field. She is a media spokesperson for the American Physical Therapy Association and is actively involved in the Women’s Health section, the International Organization of Physical Therapist’s in Women’s Health, the World Confederation for Physical Therapy, and the International Society for the Study of Female Sexual Health.

Goodman coordinates the Los Angeles meetings for PFSM, the multidisciplinary group of healthcare professionals that meet quarterly to collaborate and share knowledge in the practice of Pelvic Floor and Sexual Medicine. Goodman reviews manuscripts for the Journal of Sexual Medicine and is a highly sought after speaker and author.
