I’m British, therefore it’s in my DNA to drink tea. But I like to switch out caffeinated hot drinks for a hot tea infusion. Oh I love coffee and sometimes it’s all that will do! But here’s my top 5 favourite winter infusions to help you to stay more hydrated in the colder months.

Ginger and Lemon

Essential especially in early pregnancy if you’re hugging the toilet bowl through the morning sickness days. It’s fantastic for nausea and sickness and for when you’re feeling fine too!


Simple Mint

If you aren’t a big fruit or herbal tea drinker, this one is for you. It’s simple, light and subtle. The bonus is that mint is great for digestion and also fab for nausea and headaches.


Honey and Lemon

The ultimate cold busting hot drink. My Grandma was always a big advocate of honey and lemon when you’re feeling under the weather. There’s great antibacterial properties in both honey and lemon. So if you’re looking for a great big hug in a mug, this one’s for you.


Turmeric Tea

Turmeric is well known for it’s medicinal properties and also for staining the crap outta stuff so be careful with your clothes when making this one! It’s been said to help treat a huge range of illnesses but I love Turmeric mainly for it’s anti-inflammatory properties, which are really important in postpartum healing. Boil water on a stove and add a 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric and a 1/4 teaspoon of ginger. Simmer for 10 mins. pour and serve with a slice of lemon. 


Orange and Mint Tea

Vitamin C is always a good ideas when winter hits and the family start coming down with coughs and colds. Protect yourself and stay in good health my making sure you’re getting all the essential vitamins you need.
