Hi, my name is Helen and I was introduced to the NNUH Trial through another mum I met at antenatal classes who had seen an article in the local paper and signed up. We both had our second child within days of each other and she thought the programme might be useful.

Symptoms that led to joining the NNUH Trial

The main symptom I was dealing with before the trial was leaking wee when I was exercising or coughing/sneezing. Even picking the children up if my bladder was full was enough to cause me to leak. I had struggled since the birth of my first child (an episiotomy and forceps delivery) and despite seeing the physiotherapy team my pelvic floor was not in great shape. My second child was born by caesarean section and as a result I was also suffering with lower back pain.
