“Since 1999, I’ve worked with women dealing with diastasis recti. One of the responsibilities of my first job was to teach an abdominal/core class. I realized that the majority of the women in the class had diastasis recti and didn’t even know it. They showed up specifically to “flatten the tummy” and complained of a “pooch that never went away”. They had been doing all of the wrong exercises for years after having their children. I wondered how many other women out there were dealing with the same thing, but didn’t have access to the right exercise and lifestyle information. Wendy Powell has come up with a way to reach many women all over the world! It’s wonderful to see that she has put together such a comprehensive MUTU System for women that’s accessible at all times. I endorse this program and am starting to implement it into my private practice for my women’s health physical therapy patients and fitness clients.”

“I think the MUTU Program is great. I LOVED your explanation at the start. So simple and so functional! The breathing info and audios are also excellent and what I am trying to teach all my clients everyday!! Again, really well explained and I am so glad you addressed it. I really love how you incorporate hip/pelvic stability early on, as no matter how many pelvic floor exercises a mum may need to do, these are movements/postures mums need everyday. I also love your Posture Tips and how you stress and educate about no more sit-ups or planks…thank you! I think it’s a really great programme, especially for women who are more comfortable exercising in their homes or don’t feel like they can get out with babies and small children. The programme is very good value, and for patients attending physio, it would be a great compliment to their treatment. I think it’s an excellent program and I will tell my clients about it! Thanks for allowing me to review this. You can see your passion for this field and how on-the-ball you are with your information, especially in relation to relating it to function and daily life!”

“I am a pelvic floor physical therapist and treat many women who are pregnant as well as post partum. One thing that I always remind myself and other patients is that “Once post partum, always post partum.” As a pelvic floor physical therapist, we see many women with residual bladder, bowel, sexual, pelvic pain issues that have accumulated over time since having kids. They think these issues came from nowhere but often it was a result of weakness or tension in muscles that were left untreated for so long. Often many moms are so good about taking care of their family and taking care of themselves is left last on the list. I absolutely love the MUTU system and its empowering message to women. I appreciate that they tell women it is never too late to start exercising and returning to a more healthy lifestyle and regaining your body. I like that MUTU doesn’t emphasize a goal of getting 6 pack abs but rather just learning to love your body again. I am 5 months post partum and knew from my line of work the importance of taking things easy and exercising to intensities at a graduated pace. MUTU is very good about taking things nice and slow and perfecting form rather than a lot of high intensity exercises in the beginning. It goes through exercises in a pace and quality that I give my post partum patients. I love that it also stresses the importance of safety and making modifications for those with a diastasis recti or prolapse. It also is a whole body system and discusses the importance of posture, body alignment, stress, and diet. Also, Wendy Powell’s soothing voice, relaxing music, and high quality videos is a plus!”

“I am a huge fan and advocate of MUTU System for all mummies, regardless of when they gave birth. Wendy Powell has provided an accessible and much needed service in the fitness sector for postpartum women. The MUTU System covers fundamentals such as posture, breathing, core stability and functional movement with a holistic twist incorporating nutrition and lifestyle advice. The best part is MUTU System is so affordable for women and a great adjunct to physiotherapy. I highly recommend every mummy invest in MUTU System to learn more about their bodies and how to keep their bodies strong and healthy after birth.”

DR Anita Kulkarni MUTU System medical review

DR. ANITA KULKARNI MD

Dr. Anita Kulkarni is an award-winning, board certified female plastic surgeon in Washington DC, consistently ranked among the best in Washington DC. She founded DC Plastic Surgery Boutique to bring to life her vision of creating an aesthetic practice for women, by women.

“I was initially introduced to MUTU System by one of my patients, a fitness instructor and mom of 3 who used MUTU after her last pregnancy. She started the system immediately after delivery and found significant improvement in her posture, comfort, and core strength after several months of dedicated practice. After she told me about her experience, I reviewed Wendy’s system myself and was immediately drawn to her focus on the mind-body connection and the way she helps moms “get to know” their core again.

I see moms in my plastic surgery practice all the time who are just a few months out from delivery and looking to make their pregnant-appearing belly go down. I always recommend that they start with non-surgical treatment before considering surgery, and Wendy’s MUTU System is my go-to recommendation.

If a woman still has significant muscle separation and a bulging belly after completing her core strengthening, then we start to consider surgery. Even when I am planning to surgically repair a woman’s diastasis, I still find value in having them do the program as a precursor to surgery. When a woman comes in for surgery with a healthy body and strong core, she recovers faster and better from the actual procedure! MUTU System can be a great adjunct to a tummy tuck and surgical diastasis repair.”

JESSICA CHASTKA, PT, DPT

“I am a pelvic floor physical therapist and one of my favorite things about my job is empowering women and guiding them through the postpartum experience so that they can feel confident in themselves and their ability to move and exercise. I believe that the postpartum stage (no matter where you are in it) is a vulnerable time for women and a lot of people do not realize that they do not have to settle for urinary leakage, pelvic heaviness, pelvic pain or diastasis recti. Wendy Powell’s MUTU System gives women the ability to take charge of their bodies. It validates their feelings of frustration with their current abilities and gives them hope for change, and that hope and empowerment is one of my favorite parts of the program. As I went through the MUTU program, I found that it really checked all the boxes that you would want for an exercise program. It is most importantly safe. MUTU has clear explanations of modifications to make if a woman has pelvic prolapse, is pregnant, or has pain. The focus of MUTU is not just squeeze, squeeze, squeeze the pelvic floor/abdomen, but also focuses on relaxing the pelvic floor which is an important component of then being able to squeeze and strengthen the core and avoiding pelvic pain. The program also addresses posture, biomechanics and diet which are often times over looked, but an important part of treating the whole body! Lastly, the design is simple and easy to use and a good complement to physical therapy”
