Last month I visited 5 US cities, speaking + hosting MUTUVation workshops with small groups of Moms. Nobody quite knew what to expect (including me), and so the trust of these women in giving up a full day with their families and paying to come and meet that ‘British MUTU Tummy Woman’ was humbling.
4 super cool experts in their fields of pelvic physical therapy, sex (Oh yes. We had sex experts :-) ), nutritional pelvic healing, fascia, natural movement and alignment even agreed to contribute their immense knowledge on the day for nothing but grateful hugs. Thank you, thank you Tracy Sher, Deena Goodman, Jessica Drummond and Brooke Thomas. Your expertise, generosity and warmth SHONE.
This is what I learned…
The exercises and workouts I give you to safely strengthen your body back to confidence are really important.
The Aha glint in your eye when you’ve really get this ‘whole core’ thing. The connection is made, often long lost, between brain, heart… tummy and undercarriage. You light up. And you’ve got it.
The MUTU Core exercises, stretches and alignment adjustments that address your whole core, relating core and pelvic floor function to every part of your body. You stop the gap obsession. You get that too.
You love the MUTU low impact intensive workouts! Especially when you know that all you really need to get your sweat on at home with your kids all over you… is your MUTU KitBag of stretchy bits + some deep knowledge about what works.
The knowledge and self-confidence to choose, adapt and safely progress any workout within a gym or class environment. Awesome. Go spread the word in your classes + running groups Moms.
But THIS stuff is more important than the exercises:
You cried, you shared, you opened up and you showed up. How you really feel about your body when you look in the mirror, how it affects your relationships and intimacy, how it feels to be supported, ‘validated’, listened to, respected and informed. With me and with each other… We talked and we made each other feel better. THIS is the important stuff.

“Wow, I had been looking forward to yesterday’s MUTU workshop for months and it was every bit as awesome as I thought it would be. I am definitely feeling a bit sore today! “Wendy – had a great experience in NY, seemed a little crazy at first to be flying to MUTUvation from Bermuda but it was worth every penny! Even just having that time to focus on myself and my healing and not worrying about the kids during that day was an important step for me! I bought MUTU a while ago but have not had the “time” to start, but that weekend was just what I needed to get motivated from you and the other moms. It’s good to feel like we’re not alone on this journey and there are other moms with the same issues. It was also great to get the basics drilled into us again and some other new tips that really helped! Brooke was amazing, and personally, I’ve been dealing with some major upper back posture issues and pain, so it was so good to get new insight into alignment and how even that’s related to my mummy tummy!
