“Hey, My name is Nicole and I’m a mama to two kiddos! I want to talk to you about working out during pregnancy and my experience working out during pregnancy.
My first pregnancy experience
The first time around, exercise wasn’t that high of a priority for me. I thought once I had my baby I could just start back up again and be okay.
Well, I wasn’t okay. I had a lot of instability in my core due to a large diastasis recti. I peed when I sneezed or tried to do higher impact exercises like jumping. And my back was hurting more than it ever had before.
The hardest part though was not understanding if any of it was actually just ‘normal’ or if there was something not quite right. I felt confused, defeated, and self-conscious.
I felt so out of place in my own body.
‘Finding MUTU gave me the answers, guidance and hope I desperately needed’
Luckily I found and started MUTU System 12 weeks after my first pregnancy. I completed it and felt confident and fully healed about a year later. Finding MUTU gave me the answers, guidance, and hope I desperately needed.
When I became pregnant with my 2nd child a few years after that I knew working out during pregnancy should be a priority. I wanted to use MUTU, and I am so glad I did.
Working out during pregnancy – second time around
I felt so much more confident during my second pregnancy having MUTU as my guide.
Having learned all I did after having my first baby, during my second pregnancy I felt so much more in control and relaxed in my body.
Knowing I could trust in myself and trust my body made such a difference. I didn’t do the programme perfectly throughout my 2nd pregnancy, because, life! And a toddler in tow! But doing my best with it made all the difference.
I really struggle with postpartum anxiety and depression during the first months postpartum. Having the MUTU Core to help me slow down, breath, and focus inward was really helpful.
I found I had so much more patience with my physical recovery and appearance during my second postpartum recovery because of what MUTU helped me learn and love about my body.
I found I could give myself more patience and acceptance as I healed.
What it’s like doing MUTU
I love the focus MUTU System has on empowering through education.
The exercises are short but powerful and I always feel accomplished after. Which was important when working out during pregnancy felt like the last thing I wanted to do sometimes, but I knew I would feel better if I did my MUTU exercises.
As a mother you always feel a little time poor, but MUTU makes it worth the time.
Pregnancy and postpartum left me feeling isolated and lonely at times but being able to read other mama’s experiences and connect to others through the membership site reminded me in my harder moments that I truly was not alone.
I love that there is always support from other MUTU mamas and also Team MUTU.
How my 2 postpartum recoveries were different
Compared to what I dealt with physically postpartum after my first pregnancy when I didn’t have MUTU, the second time around when I had MUTU was such a positive and different experience.
Sure my body had healing to do, I had just grown and birthed a babe! But because I had focused on working out during pregnancy with MUTU System my body was able to heal very well within the first few months postpartum.
There was no lingering diastasis recti, no urinary incontinence, and no back pain!
Healing postpartum is not just a physical process but a deeply emotional one as well. I was able to cultivate such a positive mindset around my body, and helped me to uncover the deepest beauty within myself that is not dependent on just the way I look on the outside.
I struggled so much after my first pregnancy with body image issues but after my second pregnancy, I could feel such a shift. Sure I had some days where I wished my body was all healed, but there wasn’t an obsessive urgency.
Even as I was healing and working on strengthening my body I was content, happy, and found confidence in my body. That is something that I never found in any other exercise program before MUTU System.
